This ESTONE HDMI2SDI unit converts a single HDMI 1.3a source into two simultaneous SDI outputs. It accepts resolutions from 480i up to 1080p at 60 Hz with embedded audio. The converter targets broadcast engineers, AV installers and security integrators who need to feed professional SDI monitors or recorders from an HDMI camera or playback device.

3G-SDI Distance and Format Limits

The adapter auto-detects the input and outputs matching HD-SDI at 720p or 3G-SDI at 1080p. Maximum cable reach is 100 metres for 3G-SDI and 200 metres for HD-SDI. It does not support 4K, HDR or 12G-SDI workflows, and it cannot reverse the signal path from SDI back to HDMI. Audio is limited to 8-channel embedded streams at 24-bit 48 kHz.

Compact Plug-and-Play Installation

No external power supply is required; the unit draws power over the HDMI connection. Simply connect the HDMI source and two BNC cables to the SDI outputs. The only common issue is feeding an unsupported HDMI resolution or refresh rate, which results in no picture. Verify the source matches the listed input formats before deployment.
