ESTONE OZ8AB 8K HDMI Switch

The ESTONE OZ8AB is a bi-directional HDMI 2.1 switch that lets you connect two sources to one display or one source to two displays. It suits gamers and home-theatre users who need to share a single 8K screen between a console and a PC or send a single signal to a projector and a monitor.

48 Gbps bandwidth with manual switching

The switch handles 48 Gbps bandwidth for 8K at 60 Hz, 4K at 120 Hz and 1080p at 240 Hz with Dynamic HDR, VRR and full chroma sampling. It does not switch automatically; you press the button on the unit and the signal may take three to six seconds to stabilise on high-power sources. Only one output is active at a time when used as a splitter.

Check cable length and power before ordering

Both input and output cables must not exceed three metres to maintain 8K or 4K 120 Hz performance, and HDMI 2.1 certified cables are required. The unit needs the supplied DC 5 V power adapter to operate, so a free mains socket or USB power source must be available at the install location.

Questions about this item

Should I use this as a 2-in-1-out switch or a 1-in-2-out splitter?

It works both ways. Connect two sources to one display for switching, or one source to two displays for splitting. The two outputs cannot show content at the same time.

What does the 48Gbps bandwidth deliver on my screen?

It carries the full HDMI 2.1 signal needed for 7680x4320 at 60Hz, 4K at 120Hz, or 1080p at 240Hz with Dynamic HDR and VRR, provided cables are certified and under three metres.

Which HDMI version does the switch implement and what does that limit?

The unit is HDMI 2.1 compliant with 48Gbps throughput, so it caps at 8K 60Hz or 4K 120Hz. It is backward compatible with earlier HDMI devices but cannot exceed the 2.1 specification.
