Three-source HDMI 2.1 switch

The ESTONE OZ8Q3-2 connects three HDMI sources to a single display using HDMI 2.1 at 48Gbps bandwidth. It supports 8K resolution at 60Hz and 4K at 120Hz with HDR10 and Dolby Vision. The aluminium alloy enclosure requires no external power adapter, drawing power automatically from connected source devices. A 3.9ft output cable is included in the box.

HDMI 2.1 bandwidth and power limits

The 48Gbps link handles 8K 60Hz and 4K 120Hz signals but cannot exceed the HDMI 2.1 specification for higher refresh rates or uncompressed formats beyond that ceiling. Automatic port power requires at least two of the three input sources to remain powered on; a single active source may not supply enough current for reliable switching. The switch is backward compatible with earlier HDMI versions at their native limits.

Upgrading from basic HDMI splitters

This unit replaces passive splitters or older HDMI 2.0 switches that cannot carry 8K 60Hz or 4K 120Hz with full HDR metadata. The jump is worthwhile when a display has only one HDMI 2.1 input but multiple 8K or high-refresh-rate sources need simultaneous connection. It does not suit setups requiring more than three inputs or users who need matrix routing to multiple displays.
