Capture Specifications
The ESTONE OZC3-3 is a USB 3.0 and USB-C video capture dongle that accepts an HDMI signal up to 4K at 30 Hz and records or streams at 1080p 60 fps. It is aimed at gamers, streamers and remote workers who need a simple way to bring console or camera footage into a PC or Mac.
Interface Limits
The device uses a USB 3.0 connection for bandwidth, so the host port must support that standard to sustain 1080p 60 fps capture; a USB 2.0 port will not provide enough throughput. HDMI loop-out passes the source signal through at up to 4K 30 Hz, and the supplied cable is rated for AWG 26 runs up to 15 metres at 1080p or lower resolutions.
Setup Checklist
Verify your computer has a free USB 3.0 Type-A or Type-C port and runs Windows, Linux or macOS, as no driver installation is required. Ensure the source device outputs HDMI and that you have an HDMI cable rated for the desired resolution and distance. A 3.5 mm microphone and headphones are optional for live commentary and monitoring.

Questions about this item
Should I pick the USB 3.0 or USB-C connection on this OZC3-3 capture device?
Both connectors are on the same dongle and share the USB 3.0 controller, so throughput is identical. Use whichever port matches your computer.
What does the 4K@30Hz input rating mean when I am actually recording?
The device accepts a 4K signal at 30 Hz from the source, but the capture engine scales it down and records at 1080P 60fps.
How does the USB 3.0 interface limit what I can capture?
USB 3.0 bandwidth caps the output stream at 1080P 60fps even though the HDMI input can handle 4K@30Hz.
