Upgrades From Cable Swapping

The device replaces manual HDMI or DisplayPort cable changes and separate USB hubs. The jump is worth it when you need 8K at 60 Hz or 4K at up to 144 Hz on a single monitor. Auto-scan mode cycles every 3 seconds for hands-free monitoring. LED indicators show which computer is currently active.

Practical Limits of the Interface

Video output is limited to one DisplayPort 1.4 or HDMI 2.1 port at a time; both cannot run simultaneously. The three downstream ports are USB 2.0 only, so high-speed storage will not reach full throughput. Power Delivery supplies up to 100 W to the host, though the switch itself draws power from the included USB-A cable. Thunderbolt 3 and 4 hosts are supported.
