10-Pack Shielded RJ45 Couplers

This 10-pack supplies shielded RJ45 female-to-female couplers for joining two Ethernet cables into a longer run. Each unit is built from high-impact, fire-retardant plastic with nickel-plated contacts and a snap-in retaining clip. The couplers meet Category 6 performance per TIA/EIA 568-C.2 and are RoHS compliant.

Extending Existing Cable Runs

Installers who need to bridge two short patch cables in a home, office or rack will find these couplers a direct fit. They are not suited for outdoor or direct-burial use, nor for applications requiring a single solid cable without intermediate connections. Buyers needing PoE injectors, keystone modules or field-termination plugs should look at those dedicated parts instead.

10 Gbps Rated Throughput

The single specification that decides fit is the 10 Gbps speed rating across Cat7, Cat6, Cat5e and Cat5 cables. If the link must carry 10-gigabit traffic, these couplers support it; if the network operates at lower speeds they remain fully compatible.

Questions about this item

Will the nickel-plated RJ45 contacts need cleaning or replacement after long-term use?

The nickel-plated contacts resist corrosion and the snap-in retaining clip keeps cables secure, so no routine cleaning or contact replacement is required under normal indoor use.

What limits the 10 Gbps speed when the coupler is used continuously?

The coupler meets Category 6 performance per TIA/EIA 568-C.2, so the 10 Gbps ceiling is set by the Cat6 standard rather than the coupler itself.

Does the coupler generate noticeable heat or draw extra power during all-day operation?

As a passive component with no active electronics, it produces no measurable heat and consumes no power beyond the Ethernet signals passing through.
