The ESTONE TJ-A034 is a compact USB-C switch that operates in two modes. It can connect two source devices to one display or one source to two displays. It handles video, data and up to 100W power delivery for laptops, phones or tablets.

Limits of USB 3.1 Gen 2 and DisplayPort 1.4

The link tops out at 10Gbps, so 8K is limited to 30Hz while 4K reaches 120Hz and 1080p can hit 165Hz. The 50cm cable and 1.5m maximum recommended length restrict placement. Two screens cannot show content at the same time.

Installation notes and common issues

External 5V DC power is mandatory; the unit ships with a USB-A to Micro-B cable for that purpose. Connecting a Thunderbolt dock or hub causes flicker or signal loss. Long cables between the switch and devices also lead to black screens.
