Bi-Directional DP 1.4 Switch

The ESTONE TJ-A106 is a bi-directional DisplayPort 1.4 switch that handles either one source toggling between two displays or two sources sharing one display. It supports video up to 8K at 30 Hz, 4K at 120 Hz and 1440p at 165 Hz with 10-bit colour depth, HDR and 32.4 Gbps bandwidth. The unit requires the included DC 5 V power cable for operation.

Bundled Power Cable and Manual

A 5 V USB power lead is included because the switch will not pass a signal without external power. The printed manual explains the button-press switching method and the cable-length limit. No driver or software installation is required on Windows or macOS; the device is recognised automatically once powered and connected.

DisplayPort 1.4 Bandwidth and Cable Limits

The 32.4 Gbps link caps 8K output at 30 Hz and 4K at 120 Hz, so higher refresh rates at those resolutions are not possible. Only one of the two connected displays can be active at a time; simultaneous output is not supported. Total cable run between the switch and each device should not exceed 3 metres, otherwise signal stability may degrade.

Questions about this item

Will the mechanical Select button or the DC 5 V power input need replacement after extended switching cycles?

The unit uses a tactile Select button for manual switching and a DC 5 V power line for operation; no user-serviceable parts or replacement intervals are specified.

At 32.4 Gbps bandwidth, does the DP 1.4 link saturate before the 8K 30 Hz or 4K 120 Hz timing limits are reached?

The 32.4 Gbps DP 1.4 bandwidth supports the listed 8K 30 Hz and 4K 120 Hz modes, so the resolution and refresh ceiling is reached before the link saturates.

Does the switch generate audible noise or noticeable heat when powered continuously for all-day use?

The device has no fan and draws power only through the DC 5 V line; it runs silently and stays cool during continuous operation.
