Active USB 3.0 extension cable for long runs

The ESTONE U310 is an active USB 3.0 Type A male-to-female cable that extends peripheral connections up to 100 feet. It targets installers and enthusiasts who need reliable links for VR headsets, external drives, webcams or printers beyond the normal cable limit.

Signal boosters maintain throughput over distance

Four built-in amplification chips regenerate the SuperSpeed signal so sustained 5 Gbps transfers do not degrade across the full 100-foot length. A supplied 5 V/2 A adapter powers the repeaters when attached devices draw more than 900 mA, preventing voltage drop during continuous operation.

USB 3.0 electrical limits define maximum reach

The copper conductors and foil-braid shielding meet USB 3.0 specifications, yet the standard itself caps passive runs at roughly 16 feet. This active design overcomes that boundary, though total length still cannot exceed 100 feet without additional powered hubs.

Questions about this item

Does the 100ft cable get warm or draw extra power when it runs all day?

The cable uses four built-in signal boosters to maintain the 5 Gbps rate over 100ft without signal loss. A 5V/2A power adapter is included and should be connected when the attached device draws more than 900mA.

What do I already need to own for this U310 cable to work?

You need a host with a USB 3.0 Type A port and a peripheral with a USB 3.0 Type A plug. The cable simply bridges the two.

Will my older USB 2.0 printer or webcam still run at full speed through this 3.0 active extension?

Yes. The cable is backward compatible with USB 2.0 devices, so they operate at their native 480 Mbit/s rate while the link itself remains a 3.0 connection.
