Extend USB 3.0 Connections

This ESTONE USB 3.0 extension cable extends the reach between a host device and USB peripherals. Each cable features a USB Type-A male connector on one end and a USB Type-A female port on the other. The three-pack provides three separate 10ft cables for multiple setups. It supports SuperSpeed USB 3.0 data rates up to 5 Gbps.

Replace Shorter USB 2.0 Cables

The cables replace shorter or slower USB 2.0 links that max out at 480 Mbps. Upgrading is worthwhile when you need the full 5 Gbps bandwidth for external SSDs or hard drives. Backward compatibility with USB 2.0, 1.1 and 1.0 ensures older devices still function at their native speeds. No driver installation is required for any supported operating system.

Suits Desktop And TV Setups

The 10ft length suits users who need to route cables from a rear PC port or wall-mounted TV to a convenient location. It protects host ports from wear caused by frequent plugging and unplugging. Builders who require USB Type-C, Micro-USB or Mini-USB connectors should look at other cables. Anyone needing lengths beyond 10ft will need a different solution.

Questions about this item

What clearance is needed behind a TV or desktop for the 10 ft male-to-female USB 3.0 Type A extension cable?

The 10 ft length lets you route the cable from a rear port to a front or side location, so you only need enough space for the male plug and the female socket at each end.

Which way round do the USB 3.0 Type A male and female connectors go when installing the 10 ft extension cable?

Plug the male end into the host port on the computer, TV or console, then attach your peripheral into the female end; reversing them will not work because the female socket cannot accept a host port.

Will the 10 ft USB 3.0 Type A extension cable need replacement if used daily with a 5 Gbps external SSD?

The cable is rated for SuperSpeed USB 3.0 at 5 Gbps and backward compatible with USB 2.0 at 480 Mbps; normal daily use does not require scheduled replacement unless the connectors or jacket show physical wear.
