What this converter does

This ESTONE adapter converts analogue YPbPr component video and stereo audio from a 5RCA source into a single HDMI signal. It lets you connect legacy DVD players, set-top boxes or older consoles to a modern HDMI display or projector. The unit is brand new and includes a 5 V DC power supply and manual.

Replacing direct analogue connections

If your display lacks component inputs, this converter replaces a direct YPbPr cable run with an HDMI link that supports 480i, 480p, 576i, 576p, 720p and 1080i/p at 50 or 60 Hz. The jump is worth it when you want to keep using older analogue gear on a screen that only offers HDMI. It does not work in reverse and cannot accept composite RCA video.

Check your source and display first

Verify that your source device actually outputs YPbPr on its 5RCA jacks, not composite video. Confirm your display accepts 1080p at 60 Hz over HDMI 1.4 with HDCP 1.4. The converter needs the supplied power adapter to operate, so ensure a mains socket is available nearby.
