Two-Computer Desktop Control

This new Explus-C KVM switch lets one VGA monitor, one USB keyboard and one USB mouse drive two separate computers. It is aimed at office workers, developers or hobbyists who keep a second machine for testing, legacy software or a separate security domain and want to toggle between them without swapping cables. The unit ships with all required cables attached so it works immediately after connection.

Maximum Video Resolution 2048 x 1536

The single specification that determines whether this switch fits a build is its peak analog video bandwidth of 2048 x 1536. Any display or graphics output that exceeds this resolution will not be driven correctly, so buyers running higher-resolution panels or modern digital-only outputs should look elsewhere.

Passive Operation Under Continuous Use

Because the device draws power solely from the attached USB ports, it adds no heat-generating circuitry of its own and requires no external adapter. The wired remote button simply routes the existing signals, so performance remains identical whether switching once a day or dozens of times per hour during extended sessions.

Questions about this item

What does the 2048 x 1536 resolution mean when the switch is connected to my monitor?

The switch passes a VGA signal up to 2048 x 1536, so your monitor can display that resolution from either connected computer without degradation.

Which video interface does the switch use and what does it limit?

It uses a VGA interface, which carries analogue video only and caps the maximum resolution at 2048 x 1536 with no audio support.

What physical connections and space does the unit need to sit on my desk?

Two integrated USB-VGA cables attach to the computers, a single VGA cable goes to the monitor, and a 6 ft wired remote button sits on the desk for switching; no power adapter is required.
