A USB 3.0 KVM switch lets four computers share four peripherals with 5 Gbps transfer rates and a 1.5 m wired remote for button switching
The Explus-C 4 Port USB 3.0 KVM Switch lets four computers share up to four USB peripherals such as keyboards, mice, printers, scanners or flash drives. Switching is done by a front-panel button or the included wired remote. The unit is new and requires no network configuration or software installation. High-power devices need an external 5 V supply which is not included.
The switch operates at USB 3.0 speeds up to 5 Gb/s and is backward compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 devices. Wireless keyboards and mice are supported. When high-power peripherals such as hard drives or video cameras are connected, the micro USB power port must be used because the host ports cannot supply enough current. The power adapter is not included.
The single specification that decides fit is the 4-in-4-out topology: all four computers and all four peripherals are connected at once and switched together. Buyers who need independent port switching, video switching, or more than four upstream ports cannot use this device. The wired remote cable is 1.5 m long.

Both methods toggle the same four ports; the button sits on the unit while the 1.5 m remote lets you switch from a distance, so pick whichever keeps your desk tidier.
The link can move data at up to 5Gbps, so bulk endpoints like a printer or flash drive run at full USB 3.0 speed while keyboards and mice use only a fraction of that bandwidth.
The switch passes USB 3.0, 2.0 and 1.1 signals, so any standard peripheral — mouse, keyboard, printer, scanner or flash drive — works; high-power devices such as hard drives need the optional 5V supply.
