A USB 3.0 KVM switch lets two computers share four USB devices with one-button switching and LED status indication
This Explus-C KVM switch lets two computers share up to four USB 3.0 peripherals with a single button press. It is designed for users who need quick access to printers, scanners, keyboards, mice or storage drives across separate machines without unplugging cables. The unit operates driver-free on Windows, macOS, Linux and Chrome OS. No external power is required for typical low-draw devices.
The switch eliminates the hassle of physically moving USB cables between two workstations or a laptop and desktop. It is worth adopting when you regularly share a printer, scanner or external drive and want instant switching without software configuration. The jump is less beneficial if you only occasionally change peripherals or need simultaneous access from both computers at once.
Installation is straightforward: connect the two included 1.5 m USB 3.0 cables to your computers and plug peripherals into the four front ports. A single button toggles the active system, with LEDs showing the current selection. If a high-draw device such as an external hard drive is not recognised, attach the supplied 1 m micro-USB cable to a standard 5 V adapter (not included) for supplementary power.

Each computer needs an available USB 3.0 Type-A port to accept the supplied 1.5 m cables; the switch also provides four USB 3.0 Type-A ports for peripherals and a micro-USB port for optional extra power.
Press the button on the switch once and wait for the LED to change colour, confirming the active computer has swapped; skipping the visual check can leave the previous machine still connected.
Connect the micro-USB cable to a standard 5 V 2 A adapter when a high-draw device such as an external hard drive fails to operate reliably on bus power alone.
