Four-channel HD-SDI DVR records 1080p footage from four 2-megapixel dome cameras with 3.6 mm lenses and stores it on a 2 TB drive
This Eyemax system combines a four-channel DVR with a pre-installed 2 TB hard drive and four white indoor dome cameras. Each camera uses a 1/3 inch Sony CMOS sensor and a 3.6 mm megapixel lens to capture full HD 1080p video. The DVR records at 1080p and provides HDMI and VGA outputs for local monitoring. Gigabit Ethernet enables remote viewing through the CatchEye smartphone app on iPhone and Android devices.
The package suits shops, offices or homes that want a ready-to-run HD-SDI setup without configuring IP addresses or PoE switches. Four cameras cover the included channels; sites requiring more than four viewing angles or cameras with varifocal lenses will need a larger recorder and additional cameras. Buyers who prefer pure IP networking or wireless installation should consider a different architecture.
The 2 TB drive stores footage continuously until it overwrites the oldest files, so retention time depends on bit-rate settings and motion activity rather than a fixed quota. The DVR’s HD-SDI input handles 1080p streams without the compression spikes seen in some IP cameras during complex scenes. Relay alarm outputs and sensor inputs let the recorder trigger external sirens or log events without adding latency to the video pipeline.
