8-Channel PoE Recorder with 2 TB Storage

The Eyemax Magic IL-5 NVST-IL5208E is a network video recorder designed for small to medium surveillance installations. It supports eight Power over Ethernet camera inputs and ships with a pre-installed 2 TB hard drive for immediate recording capacity. The unit runs a full graphical interface with alpha blending for clear menu navigation.

Suited for Plug-and-Play Eyemax Camera Systems

This recorder is built for installers and owners who want a straightforward PoE setup using compatible Eyemax or Magic cameras without separate network switches. The weekly scheduler with holiday blocks and 576-zone motion detection cover most routine monitoring needs. Buyers who require more than eight channels or need integration with non-Eyemax camera brands should consider other options.

576-Zone Motion Detection Defines Alert Precision

The single specification that determines fit is the motion detection grid, which divides the image into 576 configurable areas for triggering recordings or alarms. This granularity lets users mask irrelevant movement such as trees or traffic while keeping critical zones active. If the installation demands a different detection resolution or advanced analytics not listed here, this model will not meet that requirement.

Questions about this item

What comes in the box with the Eyemax Magic IL-5 NVST-IL5208E and do I need to buy hard drives or cameras separately?

The unit ships with a pre-installed 2 TB hard drive. Eight PoE ports power compatible Eyemax or Magic cameras directly, so no separate power supplies or network switches are required for those cameras.

How do I decide between the 8-channel PoE model and other channel counts in the IL-5 series?

Choose this 8-channel recorder when you need up to eight PoE camera connections and 2 TB of local storage; each channel supports individual resolution, frame-rate and quality settings.

What does the 576-area motion detection mean for daily recording on this recorder?

You can define up to 576 separate detection zones per camera, letting the recorder trigger recording or alerts only in the areas that matter while ignoring movement elsewhere.
