8-Channel PentaBrid 4K Recorder

The Eyemax TVST-PVT8-8M08 is an 8-channel PentaBrid 4K digital video recorder designed for surveillance installations that need to combine TVI, CVI, AHD, IP and analog cameras on a single platform. It ships with a 6 TB hard drive pre-installed and supports H.264 and H.265 compression to maximise recording retention. The unit is NDAA compliant for regulated environments.

Check camera types and storage limits

Before ordering, verify that your existing cameras use TVI, CVI, AHD, analog or IP signals compatible with the recorder’s eight coaxial and eight IP channels. The recorder provides one SATA port that accepts a single drive up to 8 TB, so confirm the installed 6 TB capacity meets your retention needs or plan a drive swap. Ensure your cabling infrastructure supports the required RS-485 PTZ control runs.

Thermals noise and power in normal use

The recorder operates as a standard network video appliance with a single internal hard drive and no high-wattage components, so heat output and fan noise remain low in typical indoor deployments. Power draw is modest and consistent with an 8-channel DVR running continuous H.265 recording and motion detection across 576 zones. No external cooling or special ventilation is required beyond normal rack or shelf airflow.

Questions about this item

Does the Eyemax TVST-PVT8-8M08 come with a hard drive installed or do I need to buy a SATA drive separately?

The unit includes a 6 TB drive pre-installed; the single SATA port supports up to 8 TB if you ever need more space.

Should I choose the 8 coaxial channels or the 8 IP channels for my cameras?

The recorder handles both simultaneously — 8 coax and 8 IP — so you can mix analog and digital cameras without choosing one mode.

What does the 4K 8 MP rating mean for actual recorded footage on this DVR?

It records up to 8 MP per channel using H.264 or H.265 compression, giving detailed 4K video while keeping file sizes manageable.
