40 mm 12 V server cooling fan

The Delta AFB0412SHB is a 40 mm axial fan designed for server and workstation chassis. It runs on 12 V DC with a nominal current of 0.35 A and spins at 11000 r.p.m. The double ball bearing is rated for 40000 hours at 25 °C.

Replaces worn 4015 form-factor fans

This unit fits the 40 x 40 x 15 mm footprint used in many rackmount and blade systems. The jump is worth it when the original fan has exceeded its L10 life rating or developed bearing noise. The wide voltage range of 7 V to 13.8 V allows speed control via PWM or voltage regulation.

Check mounting holes and connector pinout

Verify that your chassis uses the standard 40 mm square mounting pattern and that the power connector matches the existing header. Ensure the operating ambient temperature stays within -10 °C to 70 °C. Confirm the airflow direction suits the server’s thermal design.
