USB 3.0 KVM switch lets two computers share four peripherals with one-button switching and LED indication
This FANTEC switch lets two computers share four USB peripherals with a single button press. It removes the need to unplug cables or configure network sharing for keyboards, mice, printers, scanners and storage drives. The unit is driver-free on Windows, macOS, Linux and Chrome OS. It is built for users who want simple hardware switching between two hosts.
The switch supports USB 3.0 data rates up to 5 Gbps and remains backward compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.1 devices. Bus power alone may not be sufficient for high-draw peripherals such as portable hard drives. The included micro-USB cable can provide auxiliary power when paired with a standard 5 V adapter, which is not supplied. Chargers with higher voltage outputs must not be used.
Installation requires only connecting the two supplied 1.5 m USB 3.0 cables to the computers and attaching peripherals to the four downstream ports. Switching is instant via the front button with LED indication. If a connected drive is not recognised, the auxiliary power cable should be attached to a 5 V source. The switch does not support video or audio switching.

It is built for exactly two computers sharing up to four USB peripherals, so it matches that configuration directly.
That is the USB 3.0 theoretical maximum; real-world transfer rates will be lower and depend on the drive and cable quality.
It uses USB 3.0, capping data at 5 GB/s while remaining backward compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.1 devices.
