Lift Support Hood 84034

The FCS Struts 84034 is a transparent lift support hood designed as an automotive accessory. It provides reliable assistance for raising and holding vehicle hoods, trunks or hatchbacks during maintenance or access. This new component suits DIY mechanics and professional technicians needing a direct replacement strut. Buyers who require a different length or pressure rating will need a separate part number.

Sustained Operation Behaviour

The strut delivers consistent lifting force throughout its full extension stroke without fading under repeated daily cycles. Its internal damping controls the opening speed to prevent sudden movement that could damage surrounding panels. The sealed cylinder maintains gas pressure over long service intervals so the hood stays open securely. Users who need adjustable force settings cannot modify this fixed-rate unit.

Thermals Noise And Power

The gas-charged mechanism operates silently with no electrical draw or moving parts that generate audible vibration. Ambient temperature changes have minimal effect on the nitrogen charge pressure within the normal automotive range. No external power source or wiring is required for installation or operation. Installers who want integrated lighting or sensor circuits must add those systems separately.

Questions about this item

Does the 84034 lift support hood generate noise or heat when operated continuously?

The FCS STRUTS 84034 is a passive gas-charged strut with no motor, fan or electrical circuit, so it produces no audible noise and no measurable heat during all-day operation.

What mounting points or brackets must already be on the vehicle for the 84034 to install?

The 84034 requires the factory hood hinge and latch brackets that match the original equipment geometry; no additional wiring, controllers or power sources are needed.

Will the transparent 84034 strut fit alongside the original metal struts on an older model year?

Yes, the 84034 is designed as a direct replacement for the OEM lift support, so it installs in the same locations and works with the existing hood structure regardless of model year.
