FCS Struts 84129 Lift Support

The FCS Struts 84129 is a transparent lift support designed for automotive accessory applications. It provides reliable assistance for lifting and holding hoods, trunks, or hatches in place. The unit is sold new and carries the manufacturer model number 84129. It suits vehicle owners needing a direct replacement support strut.

Transparent gas spring capacity

The strut delivers the force required for standard lift-assist duties on compatible vehicle panels. It handles the weight of factory hoods or rear hatches within its calibrated range. The support reaches its limit when panel weight or geometry exceeds the original equipment specification. It is not suited for heavier aftermarket panels or custom fabrications.

Automotive accessory integration

Installation uses the existing mounting points on the vehicle body and moving panel. No additional brackets or wiring are required for the mechanical function. The transparent finish blends with surrounding components without visual distraction. The part frees the user from manually propping open heavy panels during maintenance or loading.

Questions about this item

Will the 84129 lift support fit the mounting points on my older solar panel frame?

The 84129 model is built as an automotive accessory, so its mounting geometry follows vehicle standards rather than solar frame patterns. Check the rod-end style and extended length against your existing brackets before installing.

How can I verify the 84129 strut is holding the panel at the correct angle after installation?

Open the array fully and confirm the panel stays stationary without drifting. The transparent body lets you see the piston rod; it should remain fully extended with no visible oil residue around the seals.

Does the 84129 package include mounting brackets or do I need to buy them separately?

The box contains only the lift support unit itself. Brackets, bolts and any frame-specific adapters are not included and must be sourced to match your particular solar mounting system.
