Right-Side Tailgate Lift Support

The FCS Struts 84869R is a transparent lift support designed for the right side of a vehicle tailgate. It functions as an automotive accessory to assist with opening and holding the tailgate in a raised position. This new component suits owners replacing a worn or failed original unit on the specified side.

Direct Replacement Installation

Installation typically involves removing the old strut and fitting the new unit to the existing mounting points using basic hand tools. The process is straightforward for most DIY mechanics. A common issue is failing to support the tailgate during the swap, which can cause the heavy lid to drop suddenly and cause injury or damage.

Single-Strut Load Capacity

This unit provides the force needed to lift and hold the tailgate on the right side under normal operating conditions. It handles the weight of the panel and typical environmental loads. If the tailgate carries added accessories such as a heavy spoiler or rack, the single strut may reach its limit and allow the lid to sag or close unexpectedly.
