What the product is

The Fellowes 1626 is a modular cube shell designed to hold letter or legal file boxes during temporary storage or short-term projects. It is aimed at office workers and home organisers who want quick access to documents without stacking loose boxes on the floor.

What it replaces

This shell replaces the practice of piling individual file boxes on top of each other, which can become unstable and hard to search. The upgrade is worthwhile when you need to keep several boxes upright, accessible and neatly contained in a limited footprint.

Installation and common issues

Assembly uses a Quick Setup design with a steel support frame and wire clips that lock shells together vertically and horizontally. The most common issue is misaligned clips during the first build, which can leave a unit wobbly until every connection seats firmly.

Questions about this item

Does the shell need any tools or hardware to clip to another unit?

No tools are required; the durable shells clip together vertically and horizontally using the built-in wire frames.

What is the first step when assembling the Quick Setup frame?

Unfold the steel support frame until it locks into shape, then slide the shell over it before inserting any file boxes.

How many shells can be stacked before the bottom unit needs reinforcement?

Up to five units high can be stacked without additional reinforcement thanks to the extra-strength steel frame.
