Medium-duty micro-cut shredder

The Fellowes Fortishred 2250M is a medium-duty micro-cut shredder designed for small office environments. It handles 8 to 10 sheets per pass and meets Security Level P-5 requirements for confidential document destruction. The unit supports 3 to 5 users and operates at a quiet 52 dBm.

Safety Shield and auto shut-off

An electronically controlled Safety Shield stops the cutters immediately when hands approach the feed opening. The shredder also powers down automatically after 30 minutes of inactivity to save energy. These features reduce accidents and lower running costs without user intervention.

Small teams needing high security

This model suits small teams that regularly destroy sensitive paperwork such as financial records or client data. It also shreds staples, credit cards and paper clips for convenient disposal. Buyers who need higher sheet capacity or continuous-run operation for larger departments should look at a different class of machine.

Questions about this item

How often does the 20-gallon bin need emptying with 3-5 users?

The 20-gallon bin holds a large volume of micro-cut particles, so emptying frequency depends on daily sheet count; expect far fewer trips than strip-cut models.

What stops a continuous shredding session first on this 2250M?

The unit automatically shuts off after 30 minutes of inactivity, and the 10-sheet maximum per pass limits batch size before the motor needs a cool-down pause.

How loud is 52 dBm in an open-plan office running all day?

At 52 dBm the shredder runs at a quiet conversation level, and the ultra-quiet design keeps background noise low even during extended use by multiple users.
