Fervit 2.5G USB 3.0 Adapter
The Fervit adapter adds a 2.5GBASE-T Ethernet port to any system with a USB 3.0 Type-A socket. It targets desktop, server, workstation and NAS users who need faster wired networking than a standard gigabit link provides. Windows 11, Windows 10 and Linux are supported without extra drivers. A USB-C port can be used with a separate OTG adapter.
Sustained throughput and standards compliance
The adapter negotiates 2.5 Gbps, 1 Gbps, 100 Mbps or 10 Mbps automatically and runs full-duplex with IEEE 802.3x flow control. IEEE 802.1Q VLAN tagging and 802.1P priority encoding keep traffic organised under continuous load. PXE boot support lets diskless workstations start over the wire. Cat5e or better UTP cable reaches 100 metres at rated speeds.
Upgrade path from gigabit USB adapters
Replaces a 1 Gbps USB 3.0 dongle when the network backbone already runs 2.5GBASE-T switches or routers. The jump is worth it for large file moves, HD video streams or multi-client NAS access that saturate a gigabit pipe. It does not help if the upstream switch ports remain at 1 Gbps or if only USB 2.0 sockets are available.

Questions about this item
Does the adapter run hot or draw much power when it stays at 2.5 Gbps all day?
The aluminium housing is designed for quick heat dissipation to keep transmission stable during continuous use.
What port must my computer already have to plug this Fervit adapter in?
A USB 3.0 Type-A port is required; USB-C ports need an extra OTG adapter.
Will this 2.5G adapter talk to my older Cat5e patch panel and 1 Gbps switch?
Yes — it auto-negotiates down to 1 Gbps, 100 Mbps or 10 Mbps and works with Cat5e or better cable up to 100 m.
