Converts a 9Pin or 10Pin motherboard header to two USB 2.0 ports at 480 Mbps, includes Type-A and Type-B adapters
This pair of Fervit adapters converts a motherboard 9-pin or 10-pin internal header into two standard USB 2.0 female ports. They suit PC builders adding front-panel or internal USB connections where space is tight. The horizontal layout and compact form factor simplify routing inside small chassis. Each unit is plug-and-play with no drivers required.
The package includes one Type-A and one Type-B adapter so the USB ports face opposite directions. This lets you route cables toward either side of the header without strain. Both adapters carry power and data to peripherals such as wireless dongles, Bluetooth modules, or mobile devices. The keyed 9-pin header prevents incorrect insertion.
The USB 2.0 interface caps throughput at 480 Mbps, so high-bandwidth devices will run at reduced speed. The adapters only support USB 2.0 signalling; they cannot pass USB 3.x or higher protocols. Builders needing faster transfer rates must use a different header or controller. The 10-pin variant follows the same electrical specification.

The adapter is fully plug-and-play with no moving contacts, so the 9-pin header pins do not require periodic reseating or replacement under normal use.
The USB 2.0 interface itself caps sustained throughput at 480 Mbps, so that specification limit is reached before any adapter bottleneck.
The passive adapter adds negligible heat and draws only the standard USB 2.0 bus power, so continuous operation does not raise system temperature or power consumption noticeably.
