Fervit

Fervit Mini DisplayPort 4K@17Hz Dummy Plug Headless Ghost Emulator Virtual Display Adapter Black

SKU CH-D31Z-N0XNF

Mini DisplayPort dummy plug emulates a 4K display at 17 Hz so headless systems can use full GPU acceleration for remote desktop, mining, rendering or streaming

  • Enables GPU acceleration for remote desktop and rendering via dummy plug emulation
  • Plug-and-play operation on Windows, macOS and Linux without driver installation
  • Solves headless display issues on macOS systems automatically
  • Supports up to 4K resolution at 17Hz maximum refresh rate
  • Compact adapter allows headless server operation without monitor, keyboard or mouse

What this product is and who it is for

The Fervit Mini DisplayPort dummy plug emulates a 4K display at 17Hz so a graphics card stays active without a physical monitor attached. It targets operators of headless servers, mining rigs or remote workstations who need GPU acceleration for rendering, simulations or remote-desktop sessions.

Who it suits and who should look elsewhere

Suits Windows, macOS and Linux users with a Mini DisplayPort output who need a simple plug-and-play headless solution. Not suited for setups that require higher refresh rates, multiple virtual displays or a full-size DisplayPort or HDMI connection without an additional adapter.

The specification that decides fit

Maximum emulated resolution is 4K at 17Hz; if the workload demands a faster virtual refresh rate or a different video interface this adapter will not meet the requirement.

How it compares

Measured against everything we stock in HDMI, DVI & VGA Adapters, at today’s prices. Recalculated every night.

Price $11.99
Cheaper than about 70% of the 172 comparable items (median $16.49).

Questions about this item

Does the dummy plug fit a Mini DisplayPort output on the graphics card?

The adapter works with any graphics card that has a Mini DisplayPort output and requires no external power or driver installation.

What is the correct way to install the headless emulator so the OS detects a display?

Insert the plug directly into the Mini DisplayPort; the system will recognise a 4K@17Hz virtual screen instantly without any software setup.

Will the emulator need replacement if I upgrade to a higher-resolution headless workload later?

The device emulates a maximum of 4K@17Hz, so a future workload requiring a higher refresh rate or resolution would need a different adapter.
