Active DP1.2 to HDMI adapter

This 6-inch active adapter converts a DisplayPort 1.2 source to an HDMI 1.4 display. It supports Ultra HD 4K at 30 Hz and carries both 2-channel LPCM and 5.1-channel audio formats such as DTS and AC-3. The plug-and-play design requires no driver installation and draws power directly from the DisplayPort output.

4K 30 Hz headroom and bandwidth limit

The adapter delivers up to 10.2 Gbps bandwidth with a maximum TMDS clock of 340 MHz, which is sufficient for 4K resolution at 30 Hz. Higher refresh rates or deeper colour depths at 4K exceed the HDMI 1.4 link and are not supported. It also enables AMD Eyefinity configurations of up to six displays, depending on the graphics card capability.

Compact build with HDCP and DPCP

The short black cable reduces strain on ports and keeps desktop routing tidy. Both DPCP and HDCP content protection are implemented, allowing protected media playback. The DisplayPort male and HDMI-A female connectors fit standard ports without blocking adjacent sockets, making the adapter practical for multi-mount setups.

Questions about this item

Will this active adapter work with an older graphics card that only has DisplayPort 1.2 outputs?

Yes, it complies with DisplayPort 1.2 and HDMI 1.4, so a DP 1.2 source can drive an HDMI display at up to 4K 30Hz.

How can I confirm the adapter is delivering 4K at 30Hz with audio after I plug it in?

Open your OS display settings and verify the output shows 4K at 30Hz, then check sound devices for 2CH LPCM or 5.1CH audio.

Does the package include an HDMI cable or do I need to supply my own?

The box contains only the 6-inch adapter with a DisplayPort male plug and HDMI-A female port; an HDMI cable is not included.
