3M Dual Lock SJ3542 Reclosable Fastener

This black reclosable fastener uses mushroom-shaped stems on a polypropylene carrier to deliver five times the closure strength of hook and loop. It mates with type 170, 250 or 400 counterparts for adjustable holding power. The synthetic rubber adhesive bonds to plastics, powder-coated metal and other low surface energy substrates. Supplied as a 10 foot roll for custom lengths.

Rubber Adhesive for Low Surface Energy Materials

The rubber adhesive is formulated to stick to plastics and powder-coated surfaces where standard acrylics often fail. It replaces screws, clips, rivets and bolts in applications that require access or repositioning. No drilling or tools are needed for installation. The white polyolefin release liner protects the adhesive until you are ready to apply it.

170 Stem Density with 1,000 Closure Life

With 170 stems per square inch and an engaged thickness of .23 inches, the fastener achieves 197 ounces per inch adhesion to stainless steel. It is rated for 1,000 open and close cycles before significant strength loss. Suitable for indoor signs, cushions, display components and E-ZPass tags. Not designed for structural loads, outdoor weathering or high-temperature environments.
