Compact high-density patch cable

This FireFold Cat6 slim patch cable uses 28 AWG stranded bare copper conductors to deliver a 3 mm diameter, which is 60% thinner than standard 24 AWG Cat6 cables. The reduced profile enables higher-density patching and improves airflow in crowded racks. It is suited for data-centre panels, telecom rooms and low-profile home router setups. Each cable is 100% tested to pass patch-cord specifications.

Replaces bulkier Cat6 jumpers

The slim design replaces standard 5.8 mm patch cords when rack space or cable-management trays are constrained, yielding a 48% diameter reduction and 73% space saving. The jump is worth it when density or airflow outweighs the mechanical ruggedness of thicker cables. It is not for runs that require the pull strength or repeated re-termination tolerance of heavier-gauge wire.

Cat6 UTP channel limits

Shielded RJ45 plugs with 50 micron gold-plated contacts and T-568B wiring support the Cat6 performance tier up to its rated frequency. The 28 AWG stranded construction increases insertion loss, so maximum channel reach is shorter than with solid 23 AWG horizontal cable. It is not for permanent links, PoE budgets beyond the gauge rating, or environments that demand a higher category rating.
