FireFold Shielded Outdoor Cat5E Cable

This 1000-foot bulk cable is built for permanent outdoor network runs. Its UV-rated black jacket protects against sunlight and weather exposure. The shielded construction helps prevent signal interference over long distances. Solid 24 AWG conductors suit straightforward installations with minimal bending.

Installers needing UV-resistant outdoor cable

Suitable for technicians running Ethernet between buildings or to exterior cameras and access points. The solid-core design works best for straight pulls through conduit or along walls. Not suited for patch cords or movable connections that require stranded conductors. Buyers who need flexible cables for frequent re-routing should look elsewhere.

350 MHz bandwidth rating

This Cat5E cable supports data signals up to 350 MHz across the full 1000-foot length. The 24 AWG solid conductors measure 0.0201 inches or 0.511 mm in diameter. Shielding adds protection against electromagnetic interference in outdoor environments. Verify that your equipment and installation practices match these specifications.

Questions about this item

What bandwidth does the Cat5E rating on this cable actually support?

The Cat5E rating on this cable supports up to 350 MHz of bandwidth for data signals.

What conduit size or pathway clearance does the 24 AWG solid construction need?

At 24 AWG each conductor is about .0201 inches in diameter, so the solid cable fits standard low-voltage conduit and raceway used for typical network runs.

How do you terminate the shield on this outdoor cable without creating a ground loop?

Terminate the drain wire to the shielded plug's grounding tab at only one end of the run, leaving the far end floating to avoid a ground loop.
