Questions about this item

How hot does the 135 W adapter get when powering an Omen 17-an all day?

The unit includes over-temperature protection that shuts it down if internal heat exceeds safe limits, so it will not overheat during continuous use.

What must I already own to use this charger with my HP laptop?

You need a compatible HP model such as Omen 15-dc, 17-an, Pavilion 15-cx, 15-dk or Spectre x360 15-df0000 that accepts a 4.5 × 3.0 mm barrel connector.

Will the 19.5 V 6.9 A output work safely on an older Pavilion 15-bc that originally used a lower-wattage adapter?

Yes, the adapter negotiates 19.5 V with the laptop and supplies up to 6.9 A only when the system requests it, so older compatible models draw only what they need.
