Purpose and Audience

This adapter connects a DisplayPort 1.4 source to an HDMI 2.1 display, supporting 8K at 60Hz, 4K at 120Hz and 2K at 240Hz. It is built for gamers and creators using RTX graphics cards who need high refresh rates on modern monitors or TVs. The uni-directional design only carries signals from DP to HDMI.

Thermals Noise and Power

The aluminium alloy shell dissipates heat passively so the adapter runs without a fan or audible noise. It draws power directly from the DisplayPort connection and requires no external supply. Gold-plated contacts resist oxidation, keeping resistance low and preventing thermal throttling over long sessions.

Build Integration

The male DisplayPort plug fits graphics card outputs while the female HDMI port accepts standard cables up to 48Gbps. A nylon braided jacket protects the short tail from bending stress and cable fatigue. The adapter is not compatible with PS5 and does not support VRR, so console users should choose a different solution.

Questions about this item

How do I connect the DisplayPort 1.4 plug to my RTX graphics card and the HDMI 2.1 cable to my display?

Insert the male DisplayPort 1.4 connector firmly into the GPU output until it clicks, then attach the HDMI 2.1 cable to the female HDMI port on the adapter. The adapter is uni-directional and only carries signals from DisplayPort source to HDMI display.

Will the 24K gold-plated connectors or the aluminium alloy housing need any cleaning or replacement over time?

The 24K gold-plated plugs resist oxidation and corrosion, while the aluminium alloy shell aids heat dissipation. No scheduled cleaning or connector replacement is required under normal use.

At what refresh rate does the adapter hit its bandwidth ceiling when running an 8K display?

The DisplayPort 1.4 HBR3 link provides 32.4 Gbps, which limits 8K output to 60 Hz. Higher refresh rates at 8K are not supported through this adapter.
