HDMI ARC Audio Extractor 4K@60Hz

This adapter extracts audio from an HDMI source and sends it to both optical Toslink SPDIF and 3.5 mm stereo outputs. It passes video up to 4K at 60 Hz while supporting HDCP 2.2 and ARC for TV return audio. Ideal for users connecting a soundbar or amplifier to a source that lacks dedicated audio outputs.

Audio mode and format support

The 3.5 mm jack outputs 2CH PCM stereo only. The optical port handles 2CH PCM, 5.1CH Dolby Digital, Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD. Dolby Digital Plus and CEC are not supported. To use both audio outputs simultaneously the source must be set to PCM or stereo.

Video resolution and colour depth

Supported video modes include 4K@60Hz, 1080p, 1080i, 720p, 576i, 480p and 480i. Colour depths of 24, 30 and 36 bit are supported with synchronised sound. The adapter complies with HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2 for protected content playback.

Questions about this item

What does 4K at 60 Hz mean for my TV and soundbar setup?

The extractor passes video up to 4K resolution at 60 frames per second while pulling audio out to optical or 3.5 mm ports, so the TV keeps full picture quality and the sound system gets a separate feed.

How does the HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2 interface limit what I can connect?

HDMI 2.0 caps the video bandwidth at 4K 60 Hz with 24, 30 or 36 bit colour, and HDCP 2.2 allows protected 4K streams from sources like streaming boxes or consoles.

What physical connections and space does this adapter need?

One HDMI input, one HDMI output, one optical Toslink port and one 3.5 mm stereo jack; the unit is a compact inline box that sits between source and display.
