Active floorstanding speaker system

The Fluance AI81 is a powered 2.0 stereo tower pair with a built-in 150W amplifier, so no separate receiver is required. It serves music, movies, TV, turntable and PC sources through wired and wireless connections. Buyers who need a multi-channel surround layout or a passive speaker that demands an external amp will not be served by this design.

Dual 6.5-inch drivers with 150W headroom

Two woven glass-fibre woofers and neodymium silk-dome tweeters cover midrange and highs, while the integrated class-D amp provides up to 150 watts for room-filling levels. The system handles typical living-room listening and near-field desktop use comfortably; very large open-plan spaces or reference-level home-cinema peaks may exceed its clean-output ceiling.

Bluetooth 5 wireless input

A single Bluetooth 5 connection streams audio from phones, tablets or computers without cables. The speakers also include RCA and optical inputs plus a subwoofer output, but Bluetooth 5 is the only wireless protocol provided. Users who require Wi-Fi casting, multi-room synchronisation or aptX HD codec support must add external hardware.

Questions about this item

Will the Fluance AI81's 150W built-in amplifier drive my existing passive subwoofer through the sub out?

The sub out provides a line-level signal for a powered subwoofer; it does not deliver speaker-level power to drive a passive subwoofer.

How can I confirm the Bluetooth 5 connection is active and streaming audio to the AI81 speakers?

The speaker system indicates an active Bluetooth link with a front-panel LED; audio plays wirelessly once your source device shows "Connected" to the Fluance AI81.

Which cables are included with the AI81 floorstanding speakers and what must I purchase separately for a turntable?

The package includes a power cord and an inter-speaker cable; you must buy RCA cables separately to connect a turntable to the dual RCA inputs.
