Fluance Ri71 Powered Bookshelf System

The Fluance Ri71 is a pair of active bookshelf speakers with a built-in 120W amplifier. They use 5-inch woven glass fiber drivers and Air Motion Transformer tweeters with a waveguide for wider dispersion. The package includes matching speaker stands for flexible placement at ear level. Connectivity covers HDMI, Bluetooth, RCA and a subwoofer output for music, turntable, TV or PC use.

Who Benefits and Who Does Not

These suit listeners who want a complete, self-powered stereo system with stands included and multiple wired or wireless inputs. They are not for buyers who need a passive design requiring a separate amplifier. They are not for installations that demand in-wall or ceiling mounting. They are not for users who require a dedicated centre channel for surround sound.

The Deciding Specification

The integrated 120W amplifier means no external receiver or power amp is needed to drive the speakers. This single fact determines whether the Ri71 fits a setup that wants an all-in-one powered solution versus a traditional passive speaker chain.

Questions about this item

Will the Ri71's 120W built-in amplifier drive my older passive subwoofer without extra gear?

The Ri71 provides a subwoofer output for connecting a powered subwoofer; a passive subwoofer would still need its own external amplifier.

How can I confirm the AMT tweeters and 5" woven glass fiber drivers are performing correctly after setup?

Play a familiar track and listen for clear, detailed highs from the tweeters and warm, articulate midrange from the 5" drivers across the listening area.

Do the included stands arrive assembled, and are speaker cables or HDMI leads in the box?

The stands are included; assembly is required, and the package does not contain speaker cables or HDMI leads.
