Sends a loud tone up to 16 km for cable tracing and checks continuity and polarity, with ABN clips and an RJ11 plug for direct access to wire pairs and telephone jacks
Model Tone Generator with ABN Clips & RJ11
The Fluke Networks 26200900 Pro3000 injects a loud tone up to 16 km in most cables to locate and trace inactive wiring. It is built for network technicians who troubleshoot telephone and data networks. The unit checks continuity and polarity with dual-color LEDs and isolates individual pairs using SmartTone technology with five distinct cadences. A compatible analog probe is required for detection and is sold separately.
Angled bed-of-nails clips give direct access to individual wire pairs without stripping insulation. An integrated RJ11 plug connects straight to telephone jacks, removing the need for separate adapters. The slide switch selects Continuity or Tone mode while the push button chooses Solid, Alternating or Off tone output. Solid frequency runs at 1000 Hz nominal and Alternating at 1000/1500 Hz nominal.
Confirm you have or will purchase a compatible analog probe to actually hear the generated tone. The generator operates on alkaline batteries; check that a fresh set is available for immediate use. A 3.5 mm jack accepts a headset for noisy environments, though the headset is sold separately. Ensure the target cables are inactive before connecting the unit.

Other versions of this model
The unit uses alkaline batteries; replacement frequency depends on how many hours per day the tone generator runs in solid or alternating mode.
The tone-mode LED stays lit while the generator is active; the continuity/polarity LED only illuminates when a live circuit is detected, so the tone LED shows sustained use first.
The Pro3000 has no fan and draws minimal current from its alkaline cells, so it runs silently and remains cool to the touch during extended operation.
