Compact Workstation Desk

The FM FURNITURE FM5695ELW desk measures 47.5 inches wide and 28.7 inches high, providing a linear workspace for home offices or gaming setups. Two pull-out drawers and an open bottom shelf organise accessories, books and stationery within easy reach. Engineered wood with a black wengue finish keeps the unit light at 29.5 lb while suiting compact rooms.

Straightforward Self-Assembly

Assembly is required and the supplier describes the process as easy to complete with basic tools. The particle-board panels are pre-drilled, so alignment depends on tightening hardware evenly to avoid wobble. A common issue is over-torquing cam locks, which can strip the engineered wood and leave drawers misaligned.

Daily Use Stability

The 25.7-inch legroom height allows comfortable seating for extended work or study sessions. Engineered wood construction handles typical monitor, keyboard and peripheral loads without flex under sustained weight. The fixed shelf and drawer runners maintain alignment over time provided fasteners stay snug and the desk remains on a level floor.

Questions about this item

How do I confirm the desk is level and stable once assembled?

Check that the desktop sits at the stated 28.7 inches high and that the legroom underneath measures 25.7 inches; the drawers should slide smoothly and the unit should not wobble on a flat floor.

Which components are included and what must I supply myself?

The box contains all pre-drilled panels, two drawer fronts, the open shelf, hardware and instructions for the FM5695ELW; you only need basic tools such as a screwdriver and possibly a hammer for assembly.

The listing shows a single 47.5 inch wide model in black wenge — how do I choose?

This SKU is offered in one width (47.5 inches) and one finish (black wenge); select it if those dimensions and colour match your space, otherwise look for a different model.
