Focal OD Stone 8 Outdoor Speaker

The Focal OD Stone 8 is a single outdoor loudspeaker finished in Calcaire. It uses a two-way driver arrangement with an Iris IP cone bass-midrange and an inverted dome tweeter. An integrated transformer allows the unit to cover large outdoor spaces without power loss. The pebble-shaped enclosure features a textured mineral surface designed to blend into gardens, terraces or poolside areas.

Suitable for installed outdoor audio systems

This speaker suits installations that need weather-resistant stereo or multi-zone sound in a single discreet unit. The IP55 rating confirms protection against dust and water jets, while the anti-UV treatment guards against prolonged sun exposure. Buyers who need a self-powered wireless speaker or a portable battery-operated model should look elsewhere, as this unit requires wired amplifier connections and fixed mounting.

IP55-rated all-weather construction

The enclosure carries an IP55 certification, meaning it resists dust ingress and low-pressure water jets from any direction. Combined with the anti-UV finish, the cabinet is built to withstand rain, temperature extremes and direct sunlight year-round. This rating is the key specification that determines whether the speaker can be permanently installed in an exposed outdoor location.

Questions about this item

Does the Iris IP cone or M-profile tweeter need periodic replacement?

The Iris IP cone and M-profile tweeter are built for long-term outdoor use and have no user-replaceable parts or scheduled maintenance intervals.

What limits output during extended high-volume playback?

The integrated transformer maintains power across large areas, so the first limit is the amplifier's continuous rating rather than the speaker's own thermal compression.

How hot does the enclosure get after hours in direct sun?

The anti-UV treated, IP55-certified cabinet is designed to withstand extreme climatic conditions without overheating or degrading during all-day operation.
