The producer's interface
The Focusrite Scarlett 18i16 4th Gen provides 18 inputs and 16 outputs for musicians, producers, and creators who need extensive connectivity. Four microphone preamps, two Hi-Z inputs, and eight line inputs handle a wide range of sources. ADAT, S/PDIF, and MIDI I/O integrate outboard gear and synthesisers into a single hub.
Build integration
The USB-C connection links the interface to a computer for recording, podcasting, and streaming sessions. Standalone operation allows the unit to function without a host computer for live performances or monitoring-only setups. Loopback routing mixes audio from other applications on the computer directly into the recording stream.
Sustained-load behaviour
The 4th Generation preamps deliver up to 69dB of gain with ultra-low noise for consistent capture during long sessions. RedNet 24-bit 192kHz converters provide a 122dB dynamic range for detailed fidelity over extended periods. Auto Gain sets optimal levels quickly while Clip Safe monitors and adjusts gain in real-time to prevent clipping.
