A 2-port DisplayPort KVM switch lets two computers share one 4K 60 Hz monitor, keyboard, mouse and four USB 2.0 devices, switched by button or wired desktop controller
This FOCUSTEC KVM switch lets two computers share one UHD monitor, keyboard and mouse. Switching is handled by a front-panel push button or the wired desktop controller. Four USB 2.0 hub ports provide shared access to peripherals such as barcode scanners, external drives, printers or webcams. The unit is plug-and-play with automatic EDID adaptation and requires no driver installation.
Users who currently unplug and reconnect DisplayPort and USB cables when moving between systems gain instant, push-button switching. The jump is worthwhile whenever two workstations or a desktop and a laptop need to share a single 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz display without degradation. If more than two computers must be managed, this two-port model cannot accommodate the extra systems.
The switch passes video at up to 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz and is backward compatible with lower resolutions. USB peripheral sharing is limited to the 2.0 signalling rate, so high-speed storage or 3.0-class devices will not operate at their full throughput. The wired controller extends up to 3.5 mm via male-to-female extension cables, restricting placement distance between the switch and the control button.

Connect each computer and the monitor with DisplayPort 1.2 cables. The switch supports up to 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz and is backward compatible with lower resolutions.
Plug the controller into the 3.5 mm jack on the KVM unit, then connect both computers and the monitor with DisplayPort cables and the two included USB 2.0 cables to the dedicated PC ports. A common mistake is plugging the keyboard or mouse into the four peripheral hub ports instead of the console USB ports on the front.
If a connected barcode scanner, USB hard drive or other peripheral does not receive enough power from the host computers, attach a 5 V supply to the KVM's power input to drive the four USB 2.0 hub ports.
