Two-Computer HDMI KVM Switch

This new FOCUSTEC KVM switch lets two computers share a single monitor, keyboard and mouse. A built-in four-port USB 2.0 hub adds printer, scanner or flash-drive sharing. Maximum video output is 4K at 30 Hz, with 1080p and 3D also supported. No external power adapter is needed because the unit draws power from the USB-B cables.

Check Your Ports Before Buying

Each computer must provide an HDMI output and a USB-B port for the included cables. Wireless keyboards and mice are supported, as are mechanical gaming keyboards. The switch uses a physical button for changing systems, not a hotkey combination. No driver installation is required on either machine.

Passive Cooling and Low Power Draw

Because the device is powered entirely through the USB-B connections, it adds minimal load to each computer’s USB supply. There is no fan, so operation is silent. The compact enclosure stays cool during normal desktop use with 4K@30 Hz video and multiple USB peripherals attached.

Questions about this item

Does the FOCUSTEC KVM include the cables needed to connect two computers, or do I need to buy them separately?

The kit ships with the HDMI and USB-B cables required to link both computers to the switch, so no extra cables are necessary for a basic two-PC setup.

The spec lists 4K@30Hz — will it also handle 1080P at higher refresh rates?

Yes, the unit supports 1080P and lower resolutions in addition to the maximum 4K at 30 Hz, so 1080P content will display without issue.

The switch is powered from the USB-B ports — is that enough to run a wireless keyboard and mouse receiver?

The USB-B power feeds the internal hub and the supplier confirms it supports wireless keyboard and mouse operation, so a typical receiver will work.
