Controls eight HDMI sources at 3840×2160 30 Hz from one console with IR, RS232, LAN and USB 2.0 hub, plus 1.5 m cables included
This FOCUSTEC KVM switch lets one keyboard, mouse and monitor manage eight host computers. It supports video up to 3840 x 2160 at 30 Hz and includes an on-screen display for quick port selection. Four 1.5 m cables are supplied for immediate connection. A built-in USB 2.0 hub port allows sharing peripherals such as scanners or storage drives across all connected systems.
The unit removes the need for eight individual monitor, keyboard and mouse sets, cutting hardware cost and desk space. Switching is handled by front-panel buttons, IR remote, RS232 serial commands, TCP/IP network commands, keyboard shortcuts, mouse gestures or an adjustable auto-scan interval. Automatic detection moves the focus to the most recently connected host without user intervention.
Each computer must provide an HDMI output capable of 3840 x 2160 at 30 Hz to use the maximum resolution. The shared USB hub runs at USB 2.0 speed, so high-bandwidth devices will not perform at their full rate. RS232 or LAN control requires a free serial port or network connection on the management station. No rack-mount rails or additional cables are included beyond the four 1.5 m leads.

The unit includes rack-mount ears and ships with four 1.5 m KVM cables, so allow 1U of rack height and ensure each host sits within 1.5 metres of the switch.
Connect all HDMI and USB cables, power the switch, then use the front-panel buttons to select a port before configuring IR remote, RS232, LAN, keyboard shortcuts or mouse gestures.
The USB 2.0 hub needs no maintenance beyond occasional dust removal; the IR remote will need a standard coin-cell battery replacement when its range drops.
