Purpose and fit

This flat Cat 7 Ethernet cable runs 60 ft and terminates in gold-plated RJ45 connectors. It is intended for home or office runs that need 10 Gbps throughput over a single cable. Buyers who require longer permanent installations or in-wall rated jacket should look elsewhere.

Sustained behaviour

The four shielded twisted pairs are wrapped in aluminium foil to suppress EMI and alien crosstalk during continuous 10 Gbps streams. Bandwidth is rated to 600 MHz so latency stays low when gaming or streaming 4K video for extended periods.

Installation notes

The flat profile slips under carpets, through door gaps and along baseboards without bulky raceways. Connectors use 50-micron gold plating for repeated insertion cycles, though the slim boot can snag in tight cable trays if pulled at sharp angles.

Questions about this item

Does the flat Cat 7 cable generate any heat or draw extra power when running at 10 Gbps all day?

The cable is passive and carries only data signals, so it produces no measurable heat and draws no power of its own during continuous 10 Gbps use.

What devices must I already have to use the RJ45 connectors on this 60 ft Cat 7 cable?

You need equipment with standard RJ45 Ethernet ports — such as a router, switch, PC, PS4 or Xbox — that accept an 8-pin modular plug.

Will this Cat 7 cable work reliably alongside my older Cat 5e patch leads in the same network?

Yes, the Cat 7 cable is backward compatible with Cat 5e, Cat 6 and Cat 6e, so it can be mixed with those cables without affecting link stability.
