25 ft Cat 6 Cable

This 25-foot Cat 6 Ethernet cable uses four unshielded twisted pairs of solid copper conductors terminated with RJ45 connectors. The flat white jacket resists tangling and suits discreet routing along skirting boards or through door frames.

Suitable for Gigabit LANs, not for shielded installs

It supports gigabit switches, media streamers and consoles such as the PS4, and remains backward compatible with Cat 5 and Cat 5e equipment. Installers who require foil or braid shielding for noisy electrical environments should look at shielded alternatives.

250 MHz bandwidth headroom

The UTP construction is rated to 250 MHz, giving comfortable margin for 1 Gbps traffic over the full 25 ft run. Performance will degrade if the cable is used for 10 Gbps links, which demand higher-category shielding and shorter lengths.

Questions about this item

What devices must I already have with RJ45 ports to use this 25 ft Cat6 cable?

You need a router, modem, switch, PC, PS4 or any other network device that provides a standard RJ45 jack; the cable simply links two such ports together.

Will this Cat6 cable work properly if I keep my older Cat5 or Cat5e patch panel and wall jacks?

Yes, the cable is backward compatible with Cat5 and Cat5e infrastructure, so it will negotiate at the highest speed both ends support.

How can I verify the 250 MHz bandwidth is actually being delivered after I plug it in?

Run a speed test or check the link status in your OS; a 1 Gbps full-duplex connection confirms the cable is operating at its rated Cat6 performance.
