Ford Taurus X Radio 2008-2009

This factory radio unit fits 2008 and 2009 Ford Taurus X models. It delivers AM FM reception MP3 playback and a six disc CD changer. An auxiliary input allows connection of portable audio devices. The unit carries part number 8F9T-18C815-CA.

Who this suits and who it does not

This radio suits owners replacing a failed unit with the identical part number. It does not suit buyers whose vehicle uses a different part number or an external amplifier system that prevents interchange. It also does not suit anyone needing Bluetooth connectivity or satellite radio integration.

Matching the part number is essential

The radio functions only when the existing unit matches part number 8F9T-18C815-CA exactly. Visual similarity and identical plugs do not guarantee compatibility because data streams differ between units. Verify the part number on your current radio before ordering.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 8F9T-18C815-CA unit or the 638-02900 interchange number?

They are the same radio; 638-02900 is the interchange part number for the 8F9T-18C815-CA, so order by whichever number matches your current unit.

What does the 6-disc CD player with MP3 support actually do in my 2008-2009 Taurus X?

It plays standard audio CDs and MP3 data discs across six slots, letting you load hours of music without changing discs while driving.

How does the auxiliary input work with the factory wiring in this Ford?

Plug any portable player into the front-panel jack and audio routes through the car speakers immediately — no coding or adapter needed.
