Rack-mount stereo monitor for 1U server bays

The Fostex RM-3 is a Class D stereo monitor speaker system designed to occupy a single 1U rack space. It delivers 20 watts of total power and covers a frequency range of 200Hz to 20kHz for clear audio monitoring in server environments. The compact design suits technicians who need audible alerts or diagnostics directly from the cabinet.

Buyers needing sub-200Hz response should look

This system does not reproduce frequencies below 200Hz, so it cannot serve as a full-range reference monitor for music production or low-frequency analysis. Engineers requiring deep bass extension or higher output power will need a different speaker solution.

Questions about this item

How loud will the 20 W rating actually be in a rack cabinet?

The 20 W Class D amplifier drives both channels, giving enough level for near-field monitoring in a 1U rack space without needing an external amp.

What does the 200 Hz low-frequency limit mean for the audio I hear?

Content below 200 Hz rolls off, so kick drums and deep bass will sound thinner; the system is intended for mid-range clarity in server-room monitoring.
