Compact USB document scanner for small offices

The Fujitsu fi-7030 is a duplex CIS scanner with a 50-sheet ADF that captures colour documents at 600 dpi optical resolution. It connects via USB 2.0 and supports Windows 7 through Windows 10 plus Server 2012 to 2016. PaperStream IP and Capture software provide TWAIN and ISIS drivers plus image processing for archive-ready output.

Low power draw and quiet standby operation

Operating power stays at 17 W or less while the LED light source eliminates warm-up delays. Sleep mode draws 1.1 W and auto standby drops consumption to 0.15 W or less. The half-second start-up and one-second wake from sleep keep the device ready without continuous energy use or fan noise.

Steady duplex throughput for batch workloads

Simplex scanning runs at 27 ppm and duplex at 54 ipm at both 200 and 300 dpi, so multi-page jobs maintain speed without slowing after the first pages. The ADF handles carrier sheets for fragile originals and accepts media up to 8.5 by 14 inches. It is not suited for high-volume centralised scanning or network-attached workflows.

Questions about this item

How do I install the fi-7030 and what step do people skip?

Connect the USB 2.0 cable, install PaperStream IP (TWAIN / ISIS) and PaperStream Capture from the included media, then verify the driver appears in Windows Devices and Printers before loading the 50-sheet ADF.

What maintenance or replacement will the fi-7030 need later?

Clean the CIS glass and rollers regularly; replace the pick roller and brake roller when feed errors rise, and swap the 3-color LED modules if color fidelity drops.

What limit shows up first during sustained duplex scanning?

The 50-sheet ADF capacity requires reloading every 50 pages, and the 17 W operating power may trigger thermal throttling on long runs.
