Fujitsu ScanSnap iX500 Document Scanner

The Fujitsu ScanSnap iX500 is a desktop document scanner built for duplex capture at 600 dpi optical resolution. It handles pages up to 8.5 in by 34 in through a 50-sheet autoload feeder and connects via USB 3.0 or Wi-Fi to Windows and macOS systems.

Home offices digitising mixed paperwork

This scanner suits users who want fast two-sided scanning of plain paper and business cards with wireless flexibility to PCs, Macs, iOS and Android devices. It is not for buyers who need a larger feeder capacity, network-only operation without a host computer, or support for document sizes beyond the stated maximum.

50-sheet autoload feeder with duplex scanning

The single specification that decides fit is the 50-sheet automatic document feeder combined with automatic duplexing at up to 25 pages per minute in both monochrome and colour. If your daily volume regularly exceeds that feeder capacity or speed, a different class of device is required.

Questions about this item

What comes in the box with the ScanSnap iX500 and what must be purchased separately?

The refurbished scanner includes the unit, AC adapter for 120/230 V power, and a USB 3.0 cable; no computer, mobile device or extra software licence is supplied.

Which version of the iX500 should I choose for duplex scanning of 50-sheet batches?

This single model PA03656-B005-R already offers automatic duplexing and a 50-sheet autoload feeder, so no alternative capacity or version exists to select.

What does the 25 ppm duplex rating mean when scanning mixed-colour documents to a PC over Wi-Fi?

It indicates up to 25 double-sided pages per minute in both mono and colour at 600 dpi; actual throughput depends on network conditions and the host computer’s processing speed.
