FYUU PM991a M.2 2230 512G NVMe internal SSD

This internal solid-state drive uses an M.2 2230 form factor and connects through a PCIe Gen 3 x4 interface with NVMe protocol. It provides 512G of storage capacity in a compact 22 by 30 millimetre footprint. The drive is designed as a replacement for compatible Microsoft Surface devices such as the Pro X and Laptop 3.

Suits owners of devices with an M.2 2230 NVMe slot

Buyers whose laptops only accept the longer 2280 form factor cannot use this drive. Systems limited to PCIe Gen 2 or earlier will not achieve the interface speed this SSD supports. Machines without an M.2 NVMe connector are incompatible.

PCIe Gen 3 x4 NVMe interface on M.2 2230

The single specification that decides fit is the combination of PCIe Gen 3 x4 NVMe signalling and the 2230 physical size. Verify that your motherboard or laptop provides an M.2 key-M slot wired for NVMe and accepts the 30 millimetre length before purchasing.
